Leo Caobelli
Leo Caobelli is a visual artist with emphasis in documentary production, in the areas of photography, video and installation. Graduated in Journalism from the Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) (2003), holds an MFA in Photography from the Armando Álvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP) (2012) and a Master's degree in Visual Poetry from the Federal University Institute of Arts. Photojournalist at Folha de S. Paulo newspaper (2006-2009). Winner of the Brasil Fotografia Award, he has exhibited at FoLa, in Buenos Aires (2017) and at Ecarta, in Porto Alegre (2019).
He has works in museum collections such as MASP, MAM (SP), MON Curitiba, among others. Founder and member of the collective Garapa, a creative space dedicated to the research of documentary audiovisual language from 2008 to 2015. Currently coordinates the activities of CalmaLab, a hybrid studio and visual production space and Planta Baja, a visual communication school.
